Medical Mission

Medical missions have been an important part of MITC since the beginning. The physical ministry of the medical teams provides a receptive audience for the goal of spiritual ministry. Teams come from all over the United States, therefore MITC averages at least one medical or dental team per month. The doctors, nurses, and assistants usually come for a week or more. Sometimes patients come from villages to where the medical teams are able to work. There is always a crowd. A patient will come with at least one friend and often more. The gospel is shared with patients and their friends and family.
The visits are coordinated through the mission which often works with local doctors and government officials. Working with the local government and doctors not only gives them a chance to gain from the services and experience of the medical team, it also allows us another opportunity to share the Gospel. MITC has some doctors who visit regularly. The three most common medical groups perform eye surgery, OB/GYN and general surgery. Niltepec, a small town in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec has a clinic run by Dr. Santiago Santos which is a result of MITC training and support. He coordinates many surgical caravans who operate there in the clinic. This is a major tool in sharing the Gospel in this area.
We endeavor to declare the whole council of God to those who live in darkness in Mexico. This, by God’s grace, we will continue to do with the manifested love afforded the ministry by our co-workers throughout this great nation of America and the grace of God which motivates and sustains our efforts. This Gospel will be preached! “This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” I John 1:5.
Mexico will hear, and from out of its’ darkness the light shall appear and many shall offer praises of thanksgiving for “they too have been delivered out of the powers of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of His Dear Son.” Colossians 1:12, 13. Help us to pass it on to the glory of God the Father!
